Mrs. Agnes Geneva Carter passed from this life in the comfort of her home in the Taylor's Crossroads community of Monroe on Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2019.

Geneva was born on July 11, 1936 in Clay County Tennessee in an area that is now covered by the Dale Hollow Lake, to the late Clarence & Ola Mae Ford Booher.

She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed her life as a homemaker, raising a total of 6 children. Geneva was best known for her cooking as she so enjoyed making sure that every person that came into her home was offered a full meal and she insisted that they eat before leaving. Geneva and her husband Stanley of 67 years, would spend many hours during the summer months canning fruits and vegetables as well as drying apples in preparation for the winter months. Additionally, she was well know for the making of her wonderful fried apple pies, which were in abundance during Christmas and holiday seasons.

Geneva leaves behind her husband, Stanley R. Carter Sr.; sister, Betty Jean Booher Burks; sons, Dr. Willie Joe Carter & wife Luba, Jimmy Walter Carter & wife Janie, Dr. Johnnie Clarence Carter & wife Sherry, and Stanley Carter Jr. & wife Chanda; daughter, Mary Jean Carter Jolley & husband Tom; grandsons, Michael Carter, Jackson, Carter, Cullen Carter, Christian Brown, and Stanley Carter III; granddaughters, Amanda Phipps Taylor, Sandy Carter, Jade Carter Cross, Betsy Jolley, Kristen Carter, Bailey Carter, and Cassie Carter; great-grandchildren, Emily Taylor Sherman, Evelyn Taylor, Cambrie Cross, Carter Cross, Emmitt Ogletree, and Garrett Jolley.

Geneva came from a rather large family that consisted of two brothers and five sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Chris Junior Booher, Wayne Edward Booher; sisters, Joyce Leallice Danner, Evelyn Marie Mathis, Pansy Louise Booher and Geraldine Booher. Geneva was also preceded in death by one child, Wilma Joan Carter Brown Dennis; and two grandsons, Jonathan Corey Phipps and Benjamin "Ben" Fredrick Jolley.
