DONNELLY - Marty Gene Mummert, 35, of Donnelly, and formerly of Boise, died Monday, Sept. 24, 1990, near Stibnite in central Idaho. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Star, Idaho, Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Home, Boise. Marty was born Aug. 10, 1955, at Boise. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1973, and attended Boise State University on a physics scholarship the following year. In 1975, he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving three years in the United States and England. Following his discharge, he worked as an avionics installer for Morrison Knudsen Aviation of Boise for several years. At the time of his death, Marty worked as an ore assay supervisor for Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation's Thunder Mountain site in the remote Frank Church Wilderness Area. In the off-season, he often worked at Waterhole #1 Lodge in Lake Fork. Both jobs gave him the opportunity to live and play in the beautiful Idaho mountains he loved so much. Marty spent much of his spare time with a fishing pole in his hand. He also enjoyed hunting, and in recent years, snowmobiling with friends, While everyone was surprised at Marty's sudden death, no one is surprised at the many lives he touched by just being Marty. Marty will always live in the hearts of those he left behind. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Darlene and Jim Salazar of Boise; his father and stepmother, Glenn and Patt Mummert of Boise; two brothers and their wives, Mike and Anita Mummert of Kennewick, Wash., and Randy and Dianne Mummert of Memphis, Tenn.; a stepsister and her husband, Rhonda "Little Sis" and Terry Van Lydegraf of Boise; two nieces, Sheri and Brandy Mummert; a nephew,Theron Van Lydegraf; special friends, Les and Pat Owsley of McCall; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
