He was born June 23, 1935 at Spanish Fork, Utah to John Henry and Mary A. Hone Dodds. He lived in Utah and Wyoming before settling in Idaho Falls. He married Irene Benson and they were later divorced. In 1967 he married Doreen Massengale and they divorced in 1984.
He worked various jobs, but his main interests were installing fencing and also landscaping.
He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children Cammie (Ruben) Aguilera of Idaho Falls, Lanny H. Dodds of Boise, and David J. Dodds, Roxie Smith and Jennie Massengale all of Idaho Falls; his mother, Mary Dodds Jones of Port Orchard, Washington; three sisters Arlean Hardy and Helen Gardner both of Oregon, Carma of Missouri; a brother Tom Dodds of Washington; 11 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by three sons, Todd, Corey and Randy Dodds, his father, two brothers and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rosehill Cemetery, with Bishop Rod Dutson of the Ammon LDS 10th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 1 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, at 273 N Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls.
