HERMAN BRYAN was born July 18, 1922 and died December 4, 1958. He was in the Ranger High School class of 1939 in Ranger, Tx. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Bryan of Ranger. He joined the Navy on November 14, 1942. He was a graduate of Ranger High School, Ranger Junior College and attended the University of Texas and Tulane. Before going into service he was employed by the Standard Steel & Fabricating Company in Seattle, Washington. Electrician's Mate 3rd Class Bryan received training at Farragut, Idaho, Ames, Iowa , Virginia and at the A.N.T.S. at Treasure Island, San Francisco, California, prior to foreign service. He was commissioned an officer during his service in WWII. He served in the Caribbean area, Okinawa, East China Sea and Japan on a minesweeper. He was awarded American Theater Ribbon, Victory and AP Ribbons with two battle stars. He was discharged in 1946. His brother, Buford Bryan, also served in the Navy in WWII and his brother Ramon served in the Army Air Corps and brother Euall Bryan served in the Army. There was also a sister, Vera Bryan. At the time of his death, Herman Bryan, M.D. a radiologist, was associated with Harris Methodist Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas. He is buried along with his parents and brothers at Evergeen Cemetery in Ranger.
