RAYMON ELMO BRYAN, born August 29, 1924, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence N. Bryan of Ranger, where Mr. Bryan worked for the U.S. Post Office. During WWII, Ramon served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, entering the service on November 1, 1942. He went to Bombardier Training School at Big Spring, then later to Sheppard Field at Wichita Falls and to Chattanooga, Tennessee and Selma,Alabama. He served overseas in Hawaii, Okinawa and Japan. He was awarded AT, Victory, AP Ribbons and GCM and re-enlisted for three years.

Before going into the service Raymon was employed by the Traders Grocery Company in Ranger. Later, Ramon operated the Porkey Pig Drive Inn, the most popular spot in Ranger. Ramon and his wife, Beverly Bryan had one son, Darren Bryan.

His brothers were Buford Bryan and Herman Bryan, who also served in the Navy in WWII and his brother, Euall Bryan served in the Army. Ther was also a sister, Vera Bryan.

Raymon died April 25, 1997, and is buried along with his parents and brothers at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.

Beverly and her son Darren live in Fort Worth.Raymon E. Bryan was born to Lawrence Nathaniel "L. N." Bryan and Minnie Pearl Hampton Bryan on Aug 29, 1925 in the old Bryan house on Cemetery Hill. Current address is 200 Sunset Ave. Ranger, TX . Records show 1924 as his birth year due to him going into the service when he was only seventeen. He was the youngest of five children, Eual, Vera, Herman, Buford, and Raymon. He attended Hodges Oak Park grade school as a child, and then RHS before he enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 1, 1942.
Raymon went to bomadier Training School at Big Spring, then later to Sheppard Field at Wichita Falls. He also trained in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Selma,Alabama. He served overseas in Hawaii, Okinawa and Japan as a ball turant gunner in the B-17 bomber . He was awarded AT, Victory, AP Ribbons and GCM and re-enlisted for three years.
When Raymon returned from the service in the late 40's he married Lou Dell White a young lady from Moran, TX and had two children, Rickey Lee Bryan and Karen Sue Bryan. They owned a home on Page st. in Ranger, then later bought a larger home on Hwy 80 W.
Before going into the service he was employed by the Traders Grocery Company in Ranger. After returning he and his parents opened the Porkey Pig Drive In in the late 1940's, and the El Rancho Coffee Shop later renamed Bryan's Steakhouse in the late 1950's. Raymon also owned many other businesses in town including the Point Liquor Store.
In 1973 Raymon married a 2nd time to Beverly Lain and in 1976 they had one son Darren Layne Bryan.
Raymon is responsible for 3 children, 7 Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren as of todays date November 7, 2012.
