GAITHERSBURG, Md., November 27, 1905.
Mr. William H. Coomes, one of the oldest inhabitants of Gaithersburg, died at his home on Diamond avenue Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. For many years Mr. Coomes was engaged in shoemaking here, until forced to retire, owing to ill health. Death was due to kidney troubles. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Mary E. Coomes, and five daughters-- Mrs. Crittenden Walker of Laytonsville, Mrs. Sallie Farr of Washington, Mrs. J. B. Austin of Washington, Mrs. Alexander G. Carlisle of Gaithersburg, and Miss Lizzie Coomes of Gaithersburg. The Funeral takes place Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the M. E. Church South and interment will be made in Forest Oak cemetery.
