Neoma Mae Clayborn McIntire Damron was born Feb 6, 1944 to Thurston Clayborn and Johnnie Maud Mead Clayborn. Married Charles McIntire and had two sons John and Eric. Divorced and married Jack Ray Damron. This marriage lasted 46 years; an accomplishment Mae was proud of. Two children came from this marriage, Julie and Doug. Both Jack and Mae had two children from previous marriages for a total of 6 children. Mae was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mae attended Morris Elementary School in Kansas City, Kansas and then attended Turner High School. She was proud that her 4 kids attended the same grade school and High School that she did. Her children lived and grew up in the same house that she did. Mae’s hobbies included camping, traveling, genealogy, and watching her grandchildren play sports.
Neoma is preceded in death by husband, Jack R. Damron, her parents Thurston Clayborn, Johnnie Maud Clayborn Fox, and stepfather Hank Fox. She is survived by her sons, Jack Ray (Cindy) Damron Jr., Johnny Eugene McIntire, Eric Dean McIntire, and Doug Duane (Stephanie) Damron; daughters, Linda Lea (Mike) Borum and Julie Mae (Larry) Pope; 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
