Maxine Cole, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Wellington, Kansas at the age of 96.

Maxine was born the daughter of Walter and Mae (Brinkley) LeForce on Tuesday, February 13, 1923 in Wellington, Kansas.

On August 28, 1946, Maxine and Lawrence R. Cole were united in marriage in Wellington, Kansas. Together they celebrated nearly 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2015.

Survivors include her daughter, Jill DeJarnett; son, Chuck Cole and his wife Carley; daughter, Jane Cole all of Wellington, Kansas, grandchildren: Jami Dodds and her husband Kevin, Jenny Gridley and her husband Lanny, Ashley Colwell and her husband Mack, great-grandchildren: Draecon Lee, Parker Dodds, Piper Dodds, Sabrena Nelson, Maeve Gridley, Harrison Gridley, Rahlee Colwell, Natalie Colwell, Casey Jo Colwell and Wade Colwell and a great-great-granddaughter, Aria Nelson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; sister, Betty Pettigrew, brothers: Dwight and Roger LeForce; granddaughter, Holly Cole and great-grandsons: Lucas Cole and Myles Gridley.

Funeral services for Maxine were held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Church of Christ, Wellington, Kansas. Interment followed at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington, Kansas.

Memorials have been established in her loving memory to the Westview Boys Home or the Church of Christ. Arrangements by Cornejo|Day Funeral Home & Crematory, Wellington, Kansas.
