He was a Tanner and farmer.He served during the war of 1812 in the Penn Milita. He was married three times and had 3 children with wife 1st, Anna Catharine Kramer 1765-1791. The children of the 1st marriage Christina 1787, George 1789, Josiah 1791. Anna Catharine died in childbirth

Wife 2nd- Geist, nee Maria Julian Long 1773-1795 Son Jacob 1794-1841. Maria Juliana died shortly after the birth of Jacob and was buried in the forest near Howerter, Northumberland County, PA 3rd wife Anna Margaretha Ihrig 1770-1830 One child, Sarah Salome 1797-1890 From The Geist relation, 200 years in America | A. Frank Geist pgs 222-223 the 2nd generation
