Andreas Geist Sr.was born in Frederick Twp.,Philadelphia Co., now Montgomery Co. PA.When a young man he joined the Continental Army, the Philadelphia Militia, and served as Sgt. under the command of George Washington at the Battle of Brandywine.He was a teamster.After he left the army he was a jointer and farmer in Weisenberg Twp.,Berks Co.(now Lehigh Co.).He finally settled with his wife Elizabetha Dornmeir, and two children in Northumberland Co.
