A funeral mass for Oren E. Adams, 74, 319 Frederick St., Plymouth, was held Sunday evening, June 1, 1997, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
He died late Wednesday evening, May 28, at his home, of an apparent heart attack. He was born Dec. 22, 1922 in Leopolis, a son of the late Edwin and Magdalena Sousek Adams. He graduated grade school in Pella, and graduated from Marion High School in 1941.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1943-45 during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
On June 30, 1948 he married Dessie Arlene Rymes at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mount Taber. The couple resided in Madison after their marriage. He graduated from the UW-Madison from the School of Pharmacy in 1950. He managed Rennebohm Drug Store in Madison 1950-55.
He moved to Plymouth in 1955 and bought the Drug Store from Bob Fifrick in 1957. He owned and operated it for 30 years until 1985 when he sold it to his son.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, and was past president of the Parish Council and also the Home and School Association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1789.
He was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid outdoors man and hunter. He was a member of the Monday AM Golf League and the Thursday Twilight League at Elkhart Lake.
Survivors are his wife, of Plymouth; three sons, four daughters, 10 grandchildren, one step grandchild, two brothers, one sister, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Helen West.
Burial was in the parish cemetery. Military gravesite rites were conducted by the Plymouth American Legion Post 243. Memorial funds have been set up for St. John the Baptist School Building Fund and the Wisconsin Pharmaceutical Association Building Fund. Sachon Funeral Home of Plymouth served the family.
