Mrs. Dorothy Rae Ison Lee age 85, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 25, 1936 in Elliott County, Kentucky a daughter of the late George Dewey and Monnie Bea Flannery Ison.
Dorothy was a member of the Olive Hill Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years. She retired from Carter County School System with 30 year of service. She enjoyed going to church, reading, she was adventurous, loved to try new things, loved to travel and had traveled all around the world. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Robert "Bob" Lee; two brothers, John Ison and Paul Ison, two sisters: Aythel Pence and Ruth Phillips.
She is survived by two sons; Jamey (Teresa) Lee of Olive Hill, Kentucky and David (Kim) Lee of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one step son, Warren "Packy" (Paula) Duncan of Olive Hill, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Brandon, Kami Jo, Joseph, Kyle, Brooke, Zoie; three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Sagan, Kamryn; one brother, Towney (Jessie) Ison of Halthorne, Florida; and one sister, Marcella (Jackie B.) Miller of Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Olive Hill Chruch of the Nazarene, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Bother Joe Foltz officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Family Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky and one hour prior to service on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Olive Hill Church of the Nazarene, Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Jamey Lee, David Lee, Brandon Lee, Joseph Lee, Kyle Lee, and Johnny Nagle will serve as pallbearers. Packy Duncan will serve as honorary pallbearer.
