Aythel Mae Ison Pence, age 86, of Fern Park, Florida, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away, Tuesday evening, September 29, 2009, at her residence in Florida.

Mrs. Pence was born February 2, 1924, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late George Dewey and Monnie Flannery Ison.

Aythel was a homemaker and a hair dresser.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Gene Pence; two brothers, Johnny Ison and Paul Ison; one sister, Ruth Phillips.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Wayne and Jackie Pence of Casselberry, Florida; two granddaughters, Rebecca Campbell of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Wynne James of Maytown, Kentucky; one brother and sister-in-law, James Townsend and Jessie Ison of Hawthorne, Florida; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Marcella and Jackie B. Miller, Dorothy Lee all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, one sister-in-law, Betty Ison of Longwood, Florida. She also leaves several other extended family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, officiated by her niece, Cathy Steitz. Burial will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Friday and anytime before the service hour Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Andrew Grindrod, Jamie Lee, David Lee, Joseph Lee, Brandon Lee, Shan Henderson, Keith Miller and Billy Jack Rayburn will serve as pallbearers.
