PORTLAND, Ind.--Violet W. Ridgway, 87, 208 W. McNeil St., died Monday evening in Jay County Hospital after a long illness.
She was born in Jay County. Her husband, William, died in 1979.
Surviving are three daughters, Mildred A. Ludy, Edwina (Mrs. Arthur) Hanks and Helen Ridgway, all of Portland; three sons, William F., Harold L. and Richard E. Ridgway, all of Portland; two brothers, Herbert A. Taylor, Dunkirk, and Claude Taylor, R.R. 1, Dunkirk; a sister, Claudia (Mrs. Alvie) Fields, R.R. 3, Portland; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, Portland chapel, with Rev. Phil Jellison officiating. Burial will be in Twin Hills IOOF Cemetery, Pennville. Calling hours at the funeral home are 3-9 p.m. today and before services on Thursday.
