Margie Mae Miller was born Oct. 27, 1938, in Curtis to John and Viola (Nelsen) Jensen. She grew up on a farm in Cottonwood Canyon, south of Maxwell. Margie graduated from Brady High School with the class of 1956. Shortly after graduation, she attended Kearney State College and received a rural teaching certificate.
On May 29, 1958, Margie was united in marriage to Gayle Lavern Miller. The couple lived on Redfern table north of Cozad. To this union, two children were born in Callaway: Annette Sue and Douglas Lavern. The couple made their home in Grand Island to raise their children. Margie and Gayle then moved to Lincoln, where Margie worked at UNL in Student Loans, a job she truly loved. The couple later moved to Valentine and finally Kearney.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gayle Miller of Kearney; daughter, Annette Miller and her husband, Michael Westcott, of Kearney; son, Doug Miller and his wife, Rachael, of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Lexi Westcott, Ila Miller and Luca Miller; sister, Ila Dailey and her husband, Earl; along with other relatives and many friends.
Margie Mae was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruby Sailor, and her husband, Bob; and brother, Harold Jensen.
Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
