Charles was the son of Louis/Lewis and Precilla Wiseman. He was a carpenter by trade. He married Alice Craven Ryan Wiseman (1855 - 1886), on 20 July 20, 1875, in Harrison County, Indiana; she predeceased him as did infant daughter Rosa. He spent his life in this county [Harrison County].
He died in the Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Madison, Indiana. He went to Madison for treatment a week ago and was stricken with paralysis and died suddenly.
His remains were brought yesterday morning (14 Dec 1926) to this county [Harrison, Indiana} by undertakers Swaren & Adam. Funeral services will be held this morning (15 Dec) at the Moberly Church. Burial will be in Pitman Cemetery in Spencer Township [Harrison County, Indiana].
He was 78 years 10 months and 11 days old and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Julius W. (Nellie) Sibert of Los Molitas, Calif.; a son, Frank Wiseman of Louisville, KY; another son, Harry has not been heard from in years and may not be living. One sister, Mrs. Smith Askren (Rebecca) of Indianapolis also survives. [Harry actually died 18 May 1963 at age 85 in Tuskegee, Macon County, Alabama, and is buried in Bethlehem-New Salem Cemetery, New Site, Tallapoosa County, Alabama.]
