Betty Lou Fullwood Caldwell, 88, of Morganton, peacefully

departed this world to spiritually be with the Lord on March 19, 2018.

Born December 31, 1929 in Burke County, she was the daughter of Willie Bradshaw and Lessie Fullwood Jenkins (Tossie). She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Valdese. She retired from the NC School for the Deaf where she prepared meals for the students there.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents Willie Bradshaw and Lessie Fullwood (Tossie), husband Frank E Caldwell Sr., son Frank Caldwell Jr. (Laura), daughters’ Gloria Hall (Willie), & Alice Faye (Hubert). Sister Christene Sutton (Oscar), brothers Jimmie Bradshaw, Charles Jenkins, and Lonnie Jenkins, grandsons Heath Caldwell and Allen (Chick) Caldwell, great grandson Tevan Davis.

Betty will leave her most memorable moments to two other children sons Allen Caldwell (Rebecca) of Richmond VA, Sterin Caldwell of Marion, NC, brother Harold Jenkins (Lula) of Morganton, sisters Addie Mae Jenkins and Wanda Wilkins (Charles) of Morganton. Grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Tracy Caldwell, Betty Hall, Brenda Hall, Tina Caldwell, Allen Caldwell Jr, Christopher Caldwell, Shanna Caldwell, Marcus Caldwell, Robert Morse, Trevor Watson, Lashunda Whitener, Sierra Caldwell, and a host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverends Doug Cuthbertson and Tommy Carpenter officiating.
