William Ralph Cooke, 86, of Casar, NC, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at Atrium Health in Shelby.
Born August 6, 1932, in Cleveland County, NC; son of the late Grady Lee Cooke and Hattie Beatrice Poole Cooke; husband of Geraldine "Judy" Hunt Cooke for sixty years.
Retired from Kraft Foods, was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, and served in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne from 1953 until 1955.
Survivors include his son, Timothy Mark Cooke (1960–2021); brothers, Delbert Lee Cooke (1928–2019), Hal Kenneth Cooke, and Flay Larry Cooke (1945–2019) and wife, Janet; sisters, Margaret Ann Joyce Cooke Drum (Pervie), Judy Kathren Cooke Ledford (Arthur), and Shirley Ruth Cooke.
Also predeceased by his sons, Jeffery Neal Cooke (1958-1990) and Eric Andrew Cooke (1964-1981); brothers, Eugene Loy "Jack" Cooke (1927-2006); infant brother, Danny Ray Cooke (1950–1950); sister, Mildred Starlene Cooke Bridges (1935–2012); and sisters-in-law, Patsy Ruth Harris Cooke (1938-2011), Versey Downs Cooke (1927–2019), and Marilyn Irene Lundstrum Cooke (1933-2017).
Visitation was from 1:00 - 2:45 pm, Saturday, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.
Funeral service followed at 3:00 pm at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Allan Barlow officiating; burial in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
