As a child, she was a passenger on the Mormon emigrant Ship Brooklyn. On 12 Apr 1860 Louise was married to Joseph Thompson Cheney in Salt Lake city, Utah. They had 8 children: Louise Delina, Octavia Achsa, Hattie Margaret, Joseph Austin, Della Maude, Clarence Elijah, Claude LeRoy, and Blanche Lenore. Louise also cared for her father in his old age. Louise died of erysipelas.
