Galva Weekly News, April 19, 1906:
Ellenora (Swanson) Stoneberg was born in Vens Love Soken, Christianstad
Lan, Sweden, Sept. 3, 1834, and died at her home in Galva, ILL., April 12, 1906,
aged 71 years, 7 months and 9 days. Deceased came to America in 1852. She
was united in marriage to John E. Stoneberg at Knoxville, ILL., Dec. 22,
1864. The union was blessed with six children, two sons and four daughters.
One son died in infancy and the oldest daughter passed away at the age of 15
years. After her marriage she lived with her husband on a farm north of
Bishop Hill until the spring of 1901, when they moved to Galva, ILL.

Deceased was kind and affectionate. She was fond of her home and nothing
pleased her better than to attend diligently to her duties and administer to
the comfort of her loved ones. She was wonderfully patient during her
sickness. Her death came very peacefully and found her ready. "Blessed
are the dead who die in the Lord."

Deceased leaves to mourn her loss a bereaved husband, one sister and four sorrowing children: Chas. E. Stoneberg and Mrs. B. J. Arnquist of Bishop Hill, Miss Emma Stoneberg and Mrs. Frank Lundeen of Galva.

Funeral services were held Saturday at her late home in Galva, conducted
by Revs. Martin Johnson and J. A. Ericson. The remains were interred in
the Bishop Hill cemetery.
