Ellsinore Man Died Last Week
Glen Vernon Walker, 38-year-old Ellsinore mechanic, died of an apparent heart seizure at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 16th at Poplar Bluff Hospital. He had been ill about 10 years.
Born on May 7, 1931, at Ellsinore, he had lived in that area all his life. He attended the Crommertown Elementary School. He was married in 1955 to Donna Resigner.
Surviving are one son, Vernon Wayne Walker of Fenton; his parents, Mrs. Josie Walker and Ottie Walker, both of Ellsinore; a brother, Alvin R. Walker of St. Louis, and three sisters, Mrs. Opal M. Woods and Mrs. Dorothy Pyatt, both of Ellsinore, and Mrs. Doris Hallam of Berkeley, Mo.
The funeral was held at the Evangelistic Center near White's Mill at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Mack Condray officiating. Burial was in Robinson{sic} Cemetery by McSpadden Funeral Home.
Another article appeared in the same newspaper edition on the front page under "Ellsinore Area News": "Along with everyone else, our sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Ottie Walker in the death of another son, Glen V. Walker... That makes the second son the Walkers have lost in the past year."
