Dan Craven passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at his home in Crockett. Dan Erwin Craven, age 80, passed away at his home in Crockett, Sunday, March 10, 2019. Dan was born January 30, 1939 in Crockett to parents, Elmer Craven and Elma Dominy Craven. He graduated from Pennington High School in 1957, and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Sam Houston State University with a major in physics and minor in math. In August of 1970, he received his Master of Education degree. Dan spent 41 years in education, both teaching and coaching, where he touched the lives of so many. He was a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, served the Houston County Youth Livestock Show for 10 years and was a member of the Crockett Elks Lodge for 20 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Pennington Cemetery.
