Wren D. Fuson, 83, who operated a filling station at the corner of Water street and Branciforte avenue for almost 20 years, died last night at his home, 1738 Seabright avenue, after a-short illness. Born in Lacygne, Kans., Fuson attended schools at Des Moines, Iowa. He married Myrtal Latta in Des Moines in 1895. He ranched in the midwest for a number of years. He came to Santa Cruz in 1923. He operated the corner filling station here until his retirement in 1945. Fuson was a member of the Golden Wedding club and of the First Christian church.
Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, W. Ray Fuson of Santa Cruz and Wilber S. Fuson of Saratoga; four brothers, Frank of Iowa. W. S. of Washington, James of Vancouver, B.C., and J. C. of Santa Cruz; and a sister, Cora Koons of Santa Cruz.
Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at White's chapel, Rev. V. K. Allison and Jev. D. B. Rickard officiated. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
