William Hobert Hunsucker died at the Seco Hospital on Tuesday, September 11, 1945 after suffering several days with a strepticoccus infection of the throat. He was born March 1. 1897 being 42 years, 6 months and 10 days of age at his passing. He was an employee of the Elkhorn Coal Company, Jackhorn, Kentucky and had been a resident of Jackhorn for nineteen years. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Lucy Potter Hunsucker, 2 children, Curwood and Bernice, one brother, Arlin Hunsucker, of Jackhorn, and one sister, Mrs. Della Adams, Virginia. He was a hard working man, a good father and husband and a good provider for his family. He had many friends. Funeral services were held at the residence in Jackhorn on Wednesday, September 12 at 1:00 P. M., Burial in the Potter Cemetery at Kona, Ky., Craft's in charge.

William Hobert Hunsucker was the son of Benjamin Franklin Hunsucker and Caroline Sturgill. Married first to Goldie, who appears with him on the 1930 census. He indicated his age at first marriage as 21. In 1940 he was listed as married, but was living without his wife in the household of his brother James Arlin Hunsucker. At the time of his death, he was the husband of Lucy Potter, age 23.

William Hobert Hunsucker and Lucy Potter were the parents of Bernice Hunsucker Brown 1942–1994.
