Harvey Samuel Stoots, 77, of Harper died Thursday at 2:15 p.m. in a house fire Beckley State Police said.
Born in Virginia, November 17, 1903, he was a son of Eli and Lizzie Stoots.
Mr. Stoots was a lifelong resident of the Harper area.
Survivors include a brother, Harry Stoots of Eccles, and a sister, Miss Nancy Stoots of Radford, Virginia. Graveside services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity with the Rev. Rujean Ayers officiating.
