He married Mattie Taylor and had children: George (Jacky Ann) Ammerman of Scott Co.; & Barbara Jean(George) Ammerman Collins of Bourbon Co. Ky. Had 5 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Corey) Wood, Shannan Ammerman, Ashley Ammerman, Tre Collins and Emily Collins; 1 great granddaughter, Chloe Paige Wood.

He was a farmer, part owner of A & C Farm Equipment, a Haydon Equipment employee and former board member of Southern States. Member of Leesburg Christian Church where he served as deacon and treasurer for several years, and was an Army veteran.

Funeral services conducted 11:00 am Friday at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana with Dr. Larry Bishop.
