Wife of George Givens Ammerman. Daughter of Eddie Gillespie and Myrtle Teegarden.

AMMERMAN. Sarah Elizabeth Gillespie Ammerman, 82, of
Cynthiana, died Monday, July 8, 2002 at the Harrison
Memorial Hospital. Born August 26, 1919 in Scott County,
she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Myrtle Teegarden
Gillespie. She was the widow of George Givens Ammerman.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Unity Christian
Church. Survivors include: four sons, Givens (Mattie)
Ammerman, Bourbon County, James Ammerman, Cynthiana,
Gerald (Janie) Ammerman, Scott County, David (Connie)
Ammerman, MI; three daughters, Judith (Wayne) Ware,
Mercer County, Sarah Susan Ammerman, IL, Connie (William)
Horn, Cynthiana; one brother, John W. Gillespie, Boone
County; one sister, Goldie Stalts, CO; 15 grandchildren and 21
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday,
July 10, at the Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home in Cynthiana,
with Bro. Gene Kitts and Bro. Jim Hutchinson officiating. Burial
was in the Battle Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers were
grandchildren. Honorary bearers were George Frederick
Ammerman, Gary Lee Ammerman, Barbara Jean Collins,
JoAnn James, Kevin Ammerman, Jawania Spencer, Kirtley
Douglas Ammerman, Melissa Smith, Cris Ware, William Ray
Horn Jr., Rhonda Rodgers, David Kirtley Ammerman, Douglas
Ammerman, Stevin Ammerman and Michael James
Ammerman. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the
Bluegrass.
