Mrs. Ruby Nell Bowers Tucker, 93, of Yacht Club Road, Hartwell, passed away Friday, January 11, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center, Anderson.
Born on February 5, 1925 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Seaborn Ellis Bowers and Lillie Carnes Bowers. Mrs. Tucker was a homemaker and a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons: Johnny Tucker, Ronnie Tucker, Tommy Tucker, Woody Tucker, Stevie Tucker, and Terry Tucker, all of Hartwell; three daughters: Judy Cobb of Hartwell, Tammy Traeger of Austin, TX, and Kimberly Tucker of Hartwell; one brother: George Bowers of Hartwell; two sisters: Frances Faulkner and Carolyn Reid, both of Hartwell; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John Woodson "J.W." Tucker, Jr.; six brothers: Dennis Bowers, Arnold Bowers, Derwood Bowers, James Bowers, Judson Bowers, and Thomas Bowers; two sisters: Eula Thrasher and Annie Ruth Madden; and one grandchild: John Bates Tucker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Jim Olds and Mr. Fred Greenway officiating. Entombment will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The family is at their respective homes.
