Thrasher, Eula Mae (Bowers) – age 86 of Knoxville died peacefully Monday, September 10, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospice in Halls. Born March 3, 1921 in Hartwell, Georgia to Seaborn Ellis and Susie Lillie Carnes Bowers who were one of the founding families of Hart County, Georgia. She married Newton Austin Thrasher on February 25, 1941, and they made their home in Knoxville. She will be remembered always as a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Powell for 30+ years. She is preceded in death by husband, Newton Thrasher; infant daughters, Patsy Ann and Kathy Diane; parents, Seaborn and Lillie Bowers; brothers, Arnold, Dennis, Derwood, Judson, and James. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Debbie Thrasher; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tom Mitchell; grandsons and wives, Tim and Sonya Thrasher, Rick and Kim Thrasher; granddaughter, Kimberly Mitchell all of Knoxville; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; sisters, Ruby Nelle Tucker, Carolyn Reid, Annie Ruth Madden, and Frances Faulkner all of Hartwell, Georgia; brothers George Bowers of Hartwell, Georgia and Thomas Bowers of Conyers, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Fannie Vickery of Anderson, South Carolina and Sarah Manley of Columbia, South Carolina; brother-in-law and wife, W. T. and Joyce Thrasher of Powell; and very devoted, special friends, Jerry Haun and Debbie of Knoxville; special friends and neighbors, Jason and Casey Trammel and their sons, Gunner and Cameron. Funeral services will be 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 12, 2007 in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Waddell and Dr. James Robertson officiating. Interment will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
