Bernard Charles Hatke, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Noblesville. He was born on June 30, 1931 to Bernard and Florence (DeBoy) Hatke in Lafayette, IN.

Bernard proudly served in the United States Army in the 45th Infantry during the Korean War. He graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School and Purdue University. Bernard worked for Eaton Corporation as an engineer for 25 years. He was a 20 gallon blood donor. Bernie was known for his cookie making, peanut brittle making and wood working. He was quick to lend a helping hand and loved being around his family. Bernard enjoyed his garden, playing in the dirt, and loved Purdue basketball.

He is survived by four children and four siblings. In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, June Hatke; grandson, Brandon Lehr; and sister, Velma McGlothin.

Mass will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Boniface Church, 318 N 9th St in Lafayette, IN. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM to the time of service at the church. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette.
