Bart was illegitimate son of Margrethe born in Denmark. His birth record states that his biological father is Soren Jensen Jakobsen. Margrethe married Anders Christensen 14 Feb 1883 at O'Neil, Holt, Iowa when "Bart" was 4 years old. Anders was Bart's stepfather. Margarethe and Anders had 8 children:
