TAHLEQUAH - Leonard Cobb born March 19, 1934 in Cherokee County to David Cobb and Geneva (Brown) Cobb and passed from this life on April 8, 2005 in Tahlequah at the age of 71 years. Leonard married Emma Towie on April 19, 1955 they made their home in Tahlequah, sharing 50 years together. He was an OU fan and enjoyed fishing, floating the river and making the best cheeseburgers. Leonard was very involved in his church and loved to read his Bible. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his children and grandchildren dearly and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Leonard was a retired steel worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Buddy Cobb; and two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Sue Wright. Leonard is survived by his wife, Emma Cobb; two daughters, Donna Leith and husband Ray, and Debbie Skaggs and husband Larry; one son, Les Cobb; four sisters, Betty Jones and husband Luster, Judith Jackson and husband Don, Irene Stevens, and Pauline Fry; one brother, J.D. Cobb and wife Cathy; three grandchildren, Leslie Erin Martin, Lindsey Amber Dillard and husband Neil Jr., and Joshua Dean Martin; a great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Dillard; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral ceremony will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2005 at Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Harrel D. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Casketbearers include Roger Jones, Joshua Martin, Jimmy Skinner, Ronnie Towie, Lee Towie and Billy James Leigh. Honorary casketbearers will be Joe Smith, Roy Towie, Linclon Towie and J.D. Cobb.
