Agnes Mabbett Allen, born in the town of Collins May 25, 1858, passed away Friday, September 1, 1939 at her home, 159 West Main Street, Gowanda, after a long illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Rev. Asher E. Thurston officiating. Interment was in Pine Hill cemetery. When a child, she moved with her parents to Titusville, Pa., and later to Rochester, N. Y. where she lived for many years. In June, 1900, she was married to Norman Babcock Allen and came to Gowanda where she had since lived. She was a charter member of the Monday Club, a member of the Presbyterian Church and Guild. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Charles F. Miller, two brothers, Lorenzo G. Mabbett and Fred A. Mabbett, all of Rochester, and several nieces and nephews.
