He was born on July 9, 1938, in Panguitch, Utah, the youngest of 16 children of Frank and Weltha Clark Bringard. He grew up in Delta and graduated from Delta High School. He was a skilled wrestler and as was a part of some of Delta?s first State Championship teams. After high school, John moved to Las Vegas. He married Dana Sharon Winfield in 1959, and they had two sons together. They later divorced. John moved back to Utah in the mid 60's. One evening he was served by a lovely waitress, they hit it off and he had found the love of his life. He married Patsy A Maxfield on August 23, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They combined their families into one raising six boys. They shared many wonderful years together until her passing earlier this year on February 24, 2018.

John spent many years as a truck driver traveling all over the country. For a time he worked for Hatch Trucking, running between Delta and Salt Lake.
