Notes:
1. The birth date of 14 July 1856 on his death record may have been either his baptism date or his birth date.

2. About Bodmin: His death record says his birth place was Bodmin but the census says Lanhydrock which is where they lived. Births in Lanhydrock and Bodmin were registered in the Bodmin Registration District. Family Search explains: "...one may find records that report Bodmin as the birth place of the person sought, when in reality the birth and/or christening may have occured in one of the other parishes or villages nearby, and the record of these events will not be found in the Bodmin parish records..."

3. In 2009, Cornwall County became part of the "Cornwall Unitary Authority" but this modern-day name was never used during his lifetime.
