Ronald Richmond, 83, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, in Bremen, Georgia. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at Woodcrest Chapel, 2201 W. Nifong Blvd.

Ron was born June 2, 1935, in Boonville, Missouri, to Sam and Marjorie Armstrong Richmond. Ron graduated in 1953 from Nevada High School in Missouri, and then in 1957, he graduated from William Jewell College with a bachelor’s degree in English.

He taught English for one year in Olathe, Kansas, and then embarked in a farming career in Forest Green, Missouri. From there, he would work for MFA Agri Services as a manager in both Clarence and Macon, Missouri, from which he retired. He most recently worked as a driver for Bob McCosh Chevrolet in Columbia.

Ron enjoyed music and loved to sing. He was a Deacon and Choir Director at both Centralia and Salisbury, Missouri, Baptist churches and directed the choir at the United Methodist Church in Macon. He was a member of Woodcrest Chapel. Ron’s hobbies included bike riding, traveling and woodworking.

Ron is survived by his wife, Pam Richmond; children, Mike (Stacie) Richmond of Columbia, Tennessee, Sara (Jeff) Douglas of Ben Wheeler, Texas, Christy (Mimi Fitzgerald) Richmond of Inola, Oklahoma, Rona (Chris) Nelson of Macon, Missouri, and Abbie (Bill) O’Sullivan of Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Marlee (Brandon) Burgess, Mackenzie Richmond, Amber (Travis) Smith, Jace Douglas, McKenna, Evie, Jacob and Elise Nelson and Zach, Cooper and Sloan O’Sullivan; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Luke Burgess; and his sister, Patricia Richmond of Macon.

His parents preceded him in death.
