Mrs. D. W. Price Dies
Mrs. D. W. Price, aged 74, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Q. Martin, in Bogue Chitto, April 14. She was before her marriage Miss Martha Brister and her death marks the passing of the last of the pioneer Brister family.
Mrs. Price was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a devout Christian. Possessed of a pleasing personality, she was a favorite among her friends and neighbors, and her passing has brought deep sorrow to all who knew her.
Funeral services were held from the Pleasant Hill Church Monday afternoon with Rev Hosea B. Price and Rev John Sproles officiating.
The deceased is survived by two daughters and three sons, Mrs. J. Q. Martin of Bogue Chitto, Mrs. T. L. Martin of Fernwood, Messrs. Clarence and Murphy of near Bogue Chitto, and Mr. O. W. Price of Ferriday, La.
Pall bearers were nephews of the Price and Brister families.
Interment was in the Brister cemetery and the many lovely floral offerings covering the new mound where all that is mortal of the deceased rests was mute evidence of the love and esteem felt for the departed.

Although the grave stone clearly says 1871, the obituary copied in above and US Census data from multiple years indicate Martha D Brister Price was born in 1861.
