Louis Paul Vaughan, 89, of Lafayette, passed away on Monday November 12, 2018 at 11:01 AM in Digby Place of Lafayette. A lifetime area resident, Louis was born in Lafayette on February 2, 1929, the son of the late John Leo and Cecelia Elizabeth (Schick) Vaughan and was a 1948 graduate of Wea High School.

He married Agnes Marie Niemantsverdriet in Lafayette on September 15, 1956, and she preceded him in death on May 15, 2008. Louis was a farmer for over 50 years, and was employed at the Indiana Veterans Home for nearly 20 years. He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral, a former member of the Wea Farm Bureau, and a founding member of the Wea Township Fire Department.

Surviving is one daughter; one son; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Webster, Agnes Korty and Frances Boenigk; and two brothers, John Anthony and Joseph B. Vaughan. Friends may call from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Mary Cathedral. Fr. Dominic C. Petan will be officiating. The interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
