Ruby Ann Menning, daughter of Everett and Gertie (Beukelman) Menning, was born July 7, 1937, in rural Armour, South Dakota. She graduated from Corsica High School with the class of 1955. She was united in marriage to Ted Overweg on September 24, 1957, in Corsica. They moved the family to Sioux Falls in 1964. In addition to raising the children she also cleaned homes and babysat for many years. They were faithful members of Community Reformed Church since moving to Sioux Falls. Ruby was on many church committees and volunteered her time teaching Sunday and Bible School. She loved gardening, ceramics, and traveling to South Padre Island every February for many years. Any time spent with her family was cherished time to her.


She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ted Overweg; brothers-in-law, John Groen and Roger Wolbrink; and great grandson, Brogyn.
