When Susannah Bingeman was born on October 19, 1811, in Montgomerty County, Pennsylvania, her father, John, was 28, and her mother, Hannah, was 23. A researcher in 2010 added her mother's maiden name of Bergey to her full name, but that was neither her birth name nor a name found in any document in 2020. She married Rudolph Detweiler on July 8, 1832, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They had at least fourteen children, including John Byron, during their marriage. She died on April 5, 1892, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, having lived a long life of 80 years, and was buried there. Susannah Bingeman Detweiler was 46 years old when her last child was born.
