John Bingeman was born in 1783. He was also named Johannes much of the time by members of his Pennsylvania Dutch community. Sometimes his mother's maiden name was added by researchers to his full name, but that was not documented in any legal document nor on his grave stone. His mother emigrated from the Rheinland, Germany. She was Veronica Catherina Kühler, and her husband was a Pennsylvania native named Hannes (John) Bingeman. Veronica was baptized in an Evangelical church whereas Hannes was baptized in a Lutheran church. When John was born, his father was 50 and his mother was 43 years old. John married Hannah Bergey, a Mennonite, in 1805. He was a Farmer. He died in 1854, at the age of 71. John Bingeman was survived by eight of his fourteen children.
