She was a member of New LIfe Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was pre-
ceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clarence Carter; a daughter, Phyllis Medlin;
and a brother, Wayne M. "Jack" Craig.
Survivors include her sons, Roger Wayne Carter and wife, Mavis, of Hudson, Albert De-
ward Carter of Granite Falls and Michael P. Carter of Lenoir; her daughters, Juanita K.
Carpenter and husband, Robert, of Lenoir and Janice Elaine Carter, also of Lenoir; 14
grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Carter will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Pen-
dry's Funeral Home & Crematory chapel, with Dr. Steven Mathews officiating. The fam-
ily will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Britt Medlin, Steven Sipes, Frank Berkowitz, Ryan Berkowitz, Jason Car-
ter and Christopher Carter.
