a brief illness. Born July 17, 1909, in Caldwell County, he was the son of the
late George P. Carter and Margaret Caroline Smith Carter.
He was a retired insurance salesman and a member of First Baptist Church of
Granite Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Craig Carter; three sons, Roger W. Carter and
Albert D. Carter of Hudson and Michael P. Carter of the home; three daughters,
Phyllis Medlin of Hudson, Mrs. Robert (Juanita) Chapman of Juneau, Alaska and
Janice Carter of Hudson; a brother, James M. Carter of Granite Falls; and five sis-
ters, Oedda Har, Wilmetta McCall, Christine McRary and Charlesine Carter of Gran-
ite Falls and Lydia Jackson of Lenoir.
Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Granite Falls.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 today.
