Funeral services for Deanna C. Kirk of Winona will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona, with burial following in Duck Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ed McDaniel will officiate the services.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
Mrs. Kirk, 79, died at Providence Personal Care Home in Grenada on Friday, October 26, 2018. She was born in Winona on February 26, 1939, to Nick Pegues and Rosa Crane Brookshire Collins. She was retired from the Bank of Winona, where she worked for 44 years. She was a member of North Winona Baptist Church, where in the past she taught Sunday School, led in Children's Church, and was a choir member. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Before her health declined, Mrs. Kirk enjoyed painting and traveling throughout the United States.
Mrs. Kirk was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Saxon "Pete" Kirk; her son, Kendall Scott "Ken" Kirk; and a sister, Linda Pearson. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Kirk of Starkville; grandson, Ronnie Clardy (Samantha) of Starkville); sisters, Rosemary Boyette of Grenada and Amye Alldread of Vaiden; brothers, David Collins of Winona and Bruce Collins of West Monroe, Louisiana; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Winona Baptist Church Building Fund, 602 Alberta Drive, Winona, MS 38967; or a charity of the donor's choice.
