Alice Bell Steele, 89, died June 21, 1997 in Provo, Utah.

She was born January 12, 1908 to Lauretta Rappleye and Alvin Bell in Elsinore, Utah. She married Leo Steele, Dec. 1, 1925 in Nephi, Utah. He passed away November 23, 1978.

Alice received her education in southern Utah and Arizona schools. She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church and held positions in the Relief Society, and was a Primary teacher for many years. She also worked in the Provo Temple for many years. She was a long standing member of the Benjamin D.U.P. and was a Pink Lady for many years in the Payson Hospitals.

She is survived by two sons: Rex (Karen) Steele of Provo; Glade (Rose) Steele of Benjamin; a son-in-law: Don Chapman of Lone Pine, California; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; daughter, Shirley Chapman; sister, Katherine Cook; brother, Frank Bell.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Benjamin Ward L.D.S. Chapel, 3238 West 7300 South. Friends and family may call at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. or at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Benjamin Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Robbins Care Center in Payson and the Country View Manor in Provo for the loving care of our mother.
