Athens - Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Thelma (Brewer) Ball, 65, Athens, who died Wednesday in the Athens Hospital, were to be today at 4 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with Alvin Holt officiating, with burial in Valley View Cemetery.
Survivors include the widower, Phillip Noel Ball, Athens; a son, Dany Phillip Ball, Athens; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Jean (Ball) Hasting, Elkmont, Mrs. Mamie Elaine (Ball) Taylor, Athens, Mrs. Sarah Wanell (Ball) Vellocido, Plantation, FL; three brothers, Bill Brewer, Winter Haven, FL, H. B. Brewer, A. I. Brewer, both of Athens; five sisters, Mrs. Mettie Watkins, Mrs. Nettie Tucker, both of Boaz, Mrs. Linda Bowers, Mrs. Pearlie Brown, both of Athens, Mrs. Mary Wiley, Louisville, KY; and 16 grandchildren.
Laura was the daughter of Millard Brewer and Lucy(Beadle) Brewer.
Laura and Phillip Noel Ball were married November 5, 1932, Athens, Limestone Co, AL.
