NEW CEMETERY
Yesterday the first interment in the New Cemetry* took place at one o'clock, when the remains of an old and respected citizen, Alexander Winehouse, gardener, New Elgin, were consigned to their last resting place. The Cemetery is nearly completed, and, many of our readers know, beautifully laid out in terraces, to be ornamented by flowers and evergreens. The ground is enclosed by a substantial wall, and an elegant lodge has been erected at the northwest corner. There is also to be a handsome iron gate and pillars, with balustrade the entrance, thus making the Cemetery altogether by far the finest in the north Scotland.
