Remains of Sgt. George Adomitis, 21-year-old paratrooper, will arrive at Lehigh Valley Railroad station today at 1:26 from Brooklyn Army Base and will be escorted to the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Adomitis, 44 South Empire Street, by member of American Legion Post 132.
Funeral will be held from the home Wednesday at 10:30, with reburial in Lithuanian Cemetery Wyoming.
Sgt. Adomitis died February 21945, in France from wounds suffered on February 1, 1945. He enlisted in the Army November 11, 1942, and served with the 501st Parachute Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division while undergoing training at Camp Госсоа, Ga.; Fort Benning, Ga., and Camp MacKell, N. C. He went overseas in February, 1944, and landed in England. On D-Day, June 6, 1944, he landed in Normandy with a group of "Pathfinders, " after which he was returned to England and promoted to rank of sergeant. He was first wounded in Holland and later suffered fatal wounds while crossing the Moder River as part of the 7th Army.
Не. was graduated from GAR High School in 1941. Before entering the service he was employed by Llewellyn Brothers, Incorporated , printers. In addition to his parents he is survived by three brothers: Leonard, Joseph and Albert, all at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Yanuska, Wilkes-Barre
