Reah L. Christel, 91, of Kiel, died Monday, May 19, 1997 at Calumet Homestead and Rehabilitation Center in New Holstein where she was a resident the past six months.
She is the former Reah Prahl, born Dec. 15, 1905, in Vesper, daughter of the late August and Emma Severns Prahl. She was a Chilton High School graduate.
On June 16, 1934 she married Milton Christel in Elkhart Lake. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1978.
She was a legal secretary for Attorney David Dillion in Kiel for approximately 10 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kiel, treasurer of the Eastern Star for 25 years, secretary of the Presbyterian Women’s Circle, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the PTA and the Missionary Society and received a five-year pin with the Girl Scouts.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Sharon Lightbody of Neenah; one son, Sheldon of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren; one step granddaughter; one sister, Gladys Aschenbach of Sheboygan; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
