Katherine L. Spears, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at her home with her family present on May 10, 2007. She was born January 23, 1920.
Katherine retired from Community Hospital in 1982 after 25 years of service in the Labor and Delivery Room. She later assisted her son at the Dairy Queen located at Sherman and English. She was a member of Roberts Park United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a hostess for various grocery stores and worked at the voting polls.
Katherine is survived by her sons, James, Ralph Jr., Danny and Michael Spears; daughters, Sandra Tucker, Linda Calvelage, Audrey Barton and Theresa Spears; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Spears; and sons, Donald and Robert Spears.
Services were entrusted to Shirley Brothers Mortuaries of Indianapolis, Indiana.
